FADE   Ongoing

Working with expired photo paper, encaustic wax, and fragile silver gelatin prints, Bakin transforms accidents of time into images that hover between clarity and disappearance. FADE reflects on memory, fragility, and the passing nature of images over time.

As Bakin writes: "The most special moment is when the image appears on the sheet of blank paper floating in the liquid of a dim room. From fading in to fading out, the image appears from white and disappears to black. The idea is to catch it somewhere between its birth and its death."
