To Be Who We Want To Be is a portrait series through which I focus on the Ukrainian queer community — a community that, due to cultural and historical circumstances, has been received differently from others. Personally resistant to labels and as someone who seeks acceptance for myself and for others, it is important for me to challenge the barriers that separate queer people from the rest of society. In this series, I look for what connects us rather than what divides us.
TBWWWTB was shortlisted for Palm Photo Prize (2022); was exhibited at Melkweg, Amsterdam (2023); Australia Photo (2024); and recently at Schwules Museum, Berlin (2025).
